General Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance Technician that will be responsible for ensuring all college owned aircraft are maintained to the highest levels of safety. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling and performing routine maintenance checks, diagnosing mechanical, avionics, electrical, and hydraulic systems on single and multi-engine aircraft. Candidate should have extensive knowledge of the diverse aircraft components and the airframes and powerplant options available. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair aircraft safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and analytical skills, attention to detail and be able to work well in a group environment.

Special Demands: Position involves standing most of the time; exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently (50-75%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and carrying frequently (10-33%). Walking, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motion frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, and viewing various types of close visual work constantly (67-100%). Must have valid driver's license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance. Required to travel utilizing personal vehicle.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications: Must hold FAA Aircraft and Powerplant certification with Inspection Authorization in addition to 36 months practical work experience with airframes and powerplants.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and education/certification. Minimum salary $54,900.
