Job Description

Adecco Creative and Marketing is looking for a highly motivated and creative individual who shares our passion for beauty and storytelling to join our US Corporate Communications and Media Relations team.

  • 30 hours a week
  • 3 days week on-site at the Calabasas, CA office
  • $54-$62.50/hr based on experience level
  • 6 month contractor role for now, will re-evaluate duration at that time
  • Must be passionate about the beauty industry

Position Overview:

As the Manager of US Corporate Communications and Media Relations, you will play a critical role in shaping the narrative of our US market presence. You will be responsible for driving external communications to highlight our market growth and success, as well as supporting internal communications to foster engagement and consistency across the organization. Working closely with the Global Communications team, you will create a unified story and build brand reputation while positioning the company as a leader in the beauty industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Internal and External Communications: Lead and oversee internal and external corporate communications, including executive communications, HR communications, and employee messaging.
  • External Communication Strategy: In collaboration with the Global Communications Team, develop and execute external communications that spotlight the US market’s growth, success, and innovation. Ensure a unified, strategic narrative is delivered across multiple platforms.
  • Media Relations & Storytelling: Develop and manage an editorial calendar with priority story topics that reinforce key business, beauty, and industry narratives. Collaborate with top-tier business, beauty, and retail media outlets to place stories and thought leadership pieces.
  • Executive Visibility: Identify speaking opportunities and platforms for US executives (GM, CMO, etc.) at key events and conferences and top salon trade shows to elevate their visibility and enhance brand equity.
  • Employer Value Proposition: Develop and communicate a compelling Employer Value Proposition to attract top talent and drive recruitment efforts. Help the company apply for workplace awards to further solidify its position as an employer of choice.
  • Internal Communications: Manage all internal communications for the US market, ensuring messaging is consistent and aligned with company goals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with US Brand Communications to coordinate brand stories and media placements. Ensure alignment and synergy between global and US efforts.
  • Global Communications Collaboration: Work in tandem with the Global Communications team to align on messaging and ensure synergies across markets.

  • Editorial Leadership: Develop a year-long editorial calendar that aligns with cultural moments and key events to amplify the company’s story in the US market.
  • Media Relations Expertise: Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier business, beauty, and trade media outlets to position the company as a go-to source for industry insights.
  • Content Creation: Strong writing skills with expertise in producing media materials, including press releases, thought leadership articles, FAQs, messaging documents, and social media content.
  • Media Strategy Execution: Oversee the placement of executives in key media outlets, including trade, beauty, business, broadcast, and podcast media, ensuring regular visibility.
  • Event Activation: Support and activate company events, partnerships, and programs, acting as the media liaison and ensuring effective communication strategies.
  • Strategic Influence: Influence senior leadership to secure support and participation in high-visibility media and speaking opportunities.
  • Project Management: Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications, editorial content creation, or PR agency, preferably with a background in the beauty industry.
  • Passionate about beauty and the beauty industry
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to craft engaging, multi-platform stories.
  • Experience in media relations, including placing stories in top-tier publications and securing executive speaking opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and basic desktop video and sound editing tools.
  • BA in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • Strong flexibility and bias for action to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
