Job Description

A law firm seeks an experienced Environmental Associate to join its Denver office. This position is ideal for a candidate with 2-4 years of experience in environmental law, natural resources, and related litigation matters. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, exceptional research and writing abilities, and practical experience with a variety of environmental issues, including water and air quality, natural resources development, and federal and state regulatory compliance. Duties : Handle cases related to environmental law, including natural resources, air and water quality, solid and hazardous waste law, and water law. Provide legal analysis and support in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations. Represent clients in environmental litigation and regulatory matters. Conduct research on environmental laws and regulations at the federal and state levels. Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop effective legal strategies. Manage time-sensitive responsibilities and meet deadlines while maintaining quality work. Travel as necessary for client meetings, hearings, or other legal matters. Requirements : 2-4 years of experience in environmental and natural resources law, including litigation. Strong academic credentials with proven research, writing, and analytical skills. Experience in natural resources development, air and water quality, waste law, and water law. Familiarity with federal and state environmental agencies and regulations. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team. Motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented approach to legal work. Admission to the Colorado Bar; admission to other western state bars is a plus. Prior experience as a judicial clerk, or with a national law firm, leading regional firms, or a governmental agency (e.g., federal or state environmental agency, Department of Justice, or Attorney General's office) is preferred. Education : Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications : Admission to the Colorado Bar (other western state bar admissions are a plus). Skills : Strong research, writing, and analytical capabilities. Solid understanding of environmental law and regulatory frameworks. Excellent drafting and communication skills. Ability to handle complex legal issues and maintain a high level of attention to detail. Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and commitment to client service. Self-motivated, flexible, and responsive in a fast-paced setting.
