Job Description

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role involves managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and compliance with labor laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business plan.
  • Manage payroll through our payroll platform, Paycom.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process through Paycom, in conjunction with job boards and social media, ensuring the best talent is hired.
  • Conduct new hire screening, employee onboarding and training sessions.
    • Ensure all new hire requests are completed and signed by the department head and CEO.
    • Perform background checks on all new hires/volunteers.
    • Train employees in payroll software.
    • Assign Employee Handbook in Paycom and obtain an electronic signature of receipt.
  • Process Unemployment claims and disputes.
  • Reply to employment verification requests.
  • Facilitate professional development, training and employee appreciation events.
  • Oversee benefit plan communication, enrollment & administration.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Coach and support managers in performance management, including discipline and termination, as well as development of employee initiatives.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture and support employee engagement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Familiarity with Paycom software a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization & leadership skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, current industry trends & practices and new developments.
