Senior Software Engineer - Core Services at Rivian Palo Alto, CA, United States May 09, 2020 Job Title Senior Software Engineer - Core Services Job Description Rivian's Digital Commerce Team is responsible for the end-to-end implementation of the digital experience outside the vehicle (e.g. vehicle configurator, payment gateway, vehicle delivery management, service scheduling) across web, mobile app and in-store. To that end, we are developing a world-class commerce platform that will make learning about and purchasing electric adventure vehicles intuitive, seamless and fun. We are seeking Senior Software Engineers to build the core services of the digital commerce platform that power all of Rivian's digital commerce experiences. About the work: Build highly functional microservices based on the latest AWS serverless paradigms using Python, Lambda, and DynamoDB. Coordinate across multiple upstream and downstream internal teams to design APIs that meet a complex and diverse set of requirements. Help build everything, from scratch, that a car company needs to operate. Requirements 8+ years of relevant industry experience, with 2+ years of building enterprise grade systems. Experience building distributed systems. Comfortable navigating trade-offs to bring the right data structure and algorithms to the problem. Dedicated to unit and integration testing. Experience developing APIs with the care that they deserve. Experience and familiarity with cloud native architecture, development, and deployment practices. Experience building e-commerce and/or payments systems a plus. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technology field.
